Text Comprehension & Production: Independent User I is designed for fourth-semester students in the Licenciatura en Español e Inglés program, focusing on enhancing their reading and writing skills at a B1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Building upon their foundational knowledge, students will move toward more advanced academic reading and writing, developing strategies to understand and produce texts with greater depth and clarity.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Comprehend the main ideas of texts on familiar subjects, including academic and general topics.
- Identify key details, arguments, and opinions in written discourse.
- Write structured and coherent texts, such as summaries, essays, and reports, using appropriate vocabulary and grammar.
- Develop strategies for planning, drafting, revising, and editing written work.
- Demonstrate control over grammatical structures while improving lexical range and textual cohesion.
