The course is designed to provide students and student-teachers with more specific teaching skills in the fields of syllabus design, lesson planning, classroom management and class interaction. The precedent course focused on the main theoretical frame of TESOL and this one will encompass more practical issues in preparation for practicum and for real-life teaching: handling classes, fostering interaction in large classes, making the most out of the available materials, addressing discipline in real-life courses and continued teacher development. Additionally, student-teachers will be involved in teaching elementary lessons combining the strategies for teaching the skills learned last semester and their knowledge of materials development.
