This course has been designed for the students of the ninth semester, who are at an advanced level and who need to move forward to a solid foundation of the linguistic system of the language they are learning. In order to do so, students will be exposed to authentic reading and listening material during the phase of the main task, and the speaking practice will be based on the development of real world tasks and projects of their choice. The tasks will contribute to the students’ practice and continuous build-up of the grammatical foundation accompanied with a strong development of the vocabulary needed to communicate the results of their tasks and projects.

This course is intended for students with a C1 level. This means that all the discussions and creative work will be conducted in English.  An advanced level of language use is expected in this interaction. On the other hand, the course will explore task-based instruction and project work as two innovative methodological frameworks that can be implemented as part of the course and in the student-teachers' professional practices. This course complements previous classes related to L2 methodology, SLA, and Evaluation and Assessment and focuses on enabling students to deal with theoretical knowledge in relation to TBLT and PBI. The course is also concerned with the design of tasks and projects according to the current trends in L2 teaching/learning.
