Text Comprehension & Production: Independent User (B1+) is designed for sixth-semester students in the Licenciatura en Español e Inglés program, aiming to refine their reading and writing skills at a B1+ level according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). At this stage, students will engage with more complex texts and develop their academic writing abilities, enhancing their critical reading skills and written expression for academic and professional contexts.
By the end of the course, students will be able to:
- Understand and analyze a variety of text types, including academic articles, opinion pieces, and reports.
- Identify implicit and explicit meanings, main ideas, and supporting details in longer and more complex texts.
- Write well-structured academic texts, including argumentative essays, critical analyses, and research-based compositions.
- Use a wider range of vocabulary and grammatical structures with accuracy and coherence.
- Apply revision and editing strategies to improve the clarity, cohesion, and effectiveness of their writing.
